"In 2010 Franchising will be the most successful way of market expansion." - J. Naisbitt
So what fits YOU better - a traditional franchise or a virtual franchise?
If you can say YES to 7 out of the following 10 questions, then a TRADITIONAL franchise may be a good opportunity for you!
1. I can invest anywhere from $16,688 (Snap-on Tools Franchise) to $2.5 million (Parmasters Golf Training Centers Franchise).
2. I personally have the financial wherewithal to get the business off the ground, and if I do not, I am willing to borrow the necessary funds.
3. I have at least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably management experience.
4. I am willing to follow the franchise systems and rules.
5. I am willing to work long hours.
6. The market supports my franchise and there is a demand for my product or service.
7. Location, location, location... I have a good one available to me!
8. I understand how long it took others to "Break even" based on the specific costs, drawings and overheads of the business.
9. I know the number, frequency and value of customer transactions, how the pattern of staff employment has changed over time, and the nature of overhead expenses.
10. I understand that I should not expect profit during the first year of my franchise; I have enough funds ready to run the business during this phase.
If you say YES to 7 out of the following 10 questions, then a VIRTUAL franchise may be a good opportunity for you!
1. I have a small amount to invest - preferably in the range of $3,000 or less.
2. I do not have ability to borrow funds in addition to my original investment.
3. I have at least 1 year of relevant experience.
4. I want a franchise with systems and rules that are flexible, one that will let me apply my Entrepreneurial spirit.
5. I have limited hours to dedicate to my business right now.
6. I want an online business with global opportunities.
7. I want to be able to work from any location I choose, whether that be at home or an alternate location.
8. I want the ability to break even within my first 3 months.
9. Knowing that every 3rd person today has Internet service, the online market seems like the best opportunity.
10. I expect profit during the first year of my franchise; I do not have enough funds ready to run the business without profit during this time.
I hope this has helped you decide which franchise fits YOU better!
